Big Bear Lake, CA – As fires continue to burn in the San Bernardino Mountains, The Salvation Army has been active day and night since the fire started serving first responders and Incident Command.

The Salvation Army has two mobile units circulating in areas impacted by the fires.  The Salvation Army has provided close to 4,000 items to 1,500 individuals and has logged 200 volunteer hours. Items include water bottles, Gatorade, lip balm, baby wipes and snacks.

With centers in Big Bear, San Bernardino and Redlands, as well as throughout the Inland Empire, The Salvation Army is prepared to offer increased support as needed.

“This is a time of hurt and pain, but seeing the community come together has been a huge blessing,” says Lt. Ben Jones of The Salvation Army’s Pine Summit Camp in Big Bear.  “We’re doing as much as we can, but we need the continued support of others to keep going and provided much-needed services.”

The Salvation Army is in need of individual water bottles, individually wrapped snacks, lip balm and baby wipes. Items can be dropped off at Big Bear High School, 351 Maple Ln, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315.
