We’re thrilled that our generous friends at Hanes, America’s #1 sock brand, once again donated socks The Salvation Army which will benefit our residential facilities.

Hanes, along with Advocate for the Homeless, Mark Horvath of Invisible People, donated 150,000 pairs for #GivingTuesday last week, as part of the #HanesForGood Campaign that kicked off on December 1 in New York City.

Supporters are often surprised to learn that socks are the number one requested item at our homeless shelters. Indeed, they are the most needed, yet least donated article of clothing. Even though beneficiaries served by The Salvation Army may have greater needs such as shelter or food, they are consistently excited when offered a new pair of socks. For someone used to wearing damaged, dirty or no socks at all, a new pair can feel pretty life changing.

(Learn how donating this simple item can make a real difference.)

The company is also asking for donations on our behalf. You can show your support by visiting http://www.hanes.com/hanesforgood.

A huge thanks to Hanes and Mark Horvath for helping us warm the hearts and feet of those in need.
