From the wheel of his trash truck, this do gooder found a way to care.

There are literally countless ways of being a do gooder. Right now you could look in any direction and find something or someone that needs a touch of your attention and kindness. Thankfully, Arnold Harvey and his wife Theresa didn’t wait to be asked before they pitched in as do gooders for people in need.

Arnold drives a trash truck in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Along his route he sees homeless individuals and families who need help. “As long as I know there’s somebody out here … It’s hard to go home sit at a table eat a meal,” says Arnold. So help is what he and Theresa started to do. They created a nonprofit and began soliciting donations from grocery stores and major companies. The donated food and supplies are arranged in a warehouse where homeless people can go to “shop” for what they need to care for their families. It’s not easy or painless, but being a do gooder is in all of us, not just Arnold and Theresa Harvey.

What are you doing to care for someone else in your world who needs you?
