The Salvation Army Responds to Severe Weather in Rockingham County, NC

Greensboro, NC (May 5, 2017)—The Salvation Army is on the ground in Rockingham County, NC, providing support for first responders and people affected by the severe weather outbreak early Friday morning, May 5. Under the command of Major Paul Fuller, The Salvation Army of Rockingham County is coordinating with the Rockingham County Red Cross and Rockingham County Department of Social Services to help meet the needs of the community.

The Salvation Army personnel was on scene early Friday morning, providing support to families affected by the severe weather. A mobile feeding kitchen and crew from The Salvation Army in Winston-Salem, NC is serving food and drinks at the Eden Mall in Eden, NC. In addition, The Salvation Army Service Center in Eden, located at 314 Morgan Rd., Eden, NC, is providing free hot lunch for the community. The local Salvation Army food pantry and family store are also providing assistance to households impacted by the storms.

With much of Rockingham County affected, The Salvation Army is “Doing The Most Good” and will continue as long as we are needed.
